Venture Plan - 6 Week Business Plan - Traverse City
The top five reasons that businesses fail include inadequate planning, insufficient capital, inexperienced management, lack of business knowledge and even the wrong location. This 6-week course is designed for highly motivated, early-stage business owners creating a business plan in preparation for making a financing request or opening the doors of your business within the next six to nine months. Weekly topics for discussion include start-up capital and cash flow projections, market research and defining your target customer, social media & marketing strategy, operations management and believe it or not, preparing an appropriate exit strategy. Participants may also meet independently with a MI-SBDC Small Business Consultant outside of class for individualized work on your plan. Expert guest speakers will join us each week to share their many successes and failures of owning and operating their own small businesses, as well as offer encouragement and insight for that of your own. Join us, you won’t regret doing so! ***This class meets for 3 hours each of the following Thursdays: September 9, 16, 23 and 30; October 7 and 14.
