USDA Value-Added Producer Grant Workshop

USDA Rural Development in cooperation with MSU Extension, MSU Product Center, and Capital Region Small Business Development Center is holding an information session on the USDA Value-added Producer Grant (VAPG) program. The VAPG program helps agricultural producers enter into value-added activities related to the processing and/or marketing of bio-based, value-added products. Generating new products, creating and expanding marketing opportunities, and increasing producer income are the goals of this program. Bobbie Morrison, USDA Rural Development Business Specialist, will provide an overview and requirements of the program while Diane Longanbach, MSU Extension/MSU Product Center, and Thomas Donaldson, Small Business Development Center, will discuss how their organizations can assist businesses with the grant application process, business planning, financial analysis, market research, etc. Please join us to learn if this USDA grant program is the right tool for your farming operation and how local partners can assist with your application.
